For example, if your viewers are further away, you may be able to select a lower resolution LED wall with a higher pixel pitch. This is because the expanded distance creates the illusion that the pixels are closer together.
If, however, you are in a conference room or another setting in which viewers will be closer to the video wall, you will want to select a higher resolution wall with a lower pixel pitch.

What is pixel pitch and what do I need to know about it?
Pixel pitch is the distance between pixels on an LED panel. So, for example, a 3mm pixel pitch LED panel will have 3mm distance between the pixels.
A video wall with a lower pixel pitch will offer a higher resolution display. VOX Video Walls offers pixel pitches as low as .4mm for ultra high-resolution applications.
Conversely, a higher pixel pitch wall will offer lower resolution on LED walls.
Sounds simple, right? However, choosing the right pixel pitch for your video wall is a little more nuanced: the chosen pixel pitch should be determined by the distance between the display and the typical viewer. See the chart below as a guide to determine appropriate LED wall pixel pitch based on viewing distance.
A large LED billboard on a highway may offer pixel pitches as high as 15 or more, but because the target viewing audience is more than 100 feet away from the display, it will appear to be higher resolution.
In some cases, choosing a lower pixel pitch will not add value to the video wall if the viewer is further away. Eventually, the lower pixel pitch becomes overkill and adds little to the LED wall project beyond increased cost.
It’s also important to consider the content that will be displayed when determining the right video wall pixel pitch. If you are not displaying 4k content, it’s not necessary to install a 4k video wall.

What size of video wall do I need?
Ultimately, the size of your video wall is up to you, your imagination, and your budget! Generally speaking, video walls start at approximately 110”. Because there are commercial displays on the market today that are as large as 98”, anything less than 110” would be more economically served by a commercial display.
Video walls can be configured in a variety of ways. Think of the Sphere in Las Vegas, or Taylor Swift’s Eras tour. Those dazzling productions are composed of video walls.
One consideration will be the type of content you will be displaying on your LED wall. Most content is configured in a 16 x 9 ratio, so you may want to consider that formula when determining the right size of your video wall.

How much do video walls cost?
This is a great question! The answer is a little more complicated.
There are several video wall technologies on the market. A relatively small traditional SMD indoor video wall could start as low as $15,000 installed, depending on the pixel pitch chosen and the application.
A larger, ultra high-definition COB video wall would cost considerably more.
